Public transport traffic and schedules to change as of March 21
State of emergency has been declared and various restrictions and recommendations have been implemented in Latvia to reduce the spreading of COVID-19, which has caused a significant reduction in passenger flow. Due to the above, as of March 21 changes will be made in the traffic and schedules of public transport – trams, trolleybuses, buses, minibuses and express buses and night transport routes will be also closed.
Buses, trolleybuses and trams
From the morning of 21.03.2020:
- bus routes No. 4z, 35, 59 and tram route No. 9 will be closed;
- bus routes No. 52, 57 and trolleybus route No. 13 will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays;
- buses No. 5, 11, 13, 14, 18, 21, 22, 43, 51 and 52, and trolleybus No. 11 will run on working days according to holiday schedules;
- schedules of bus routes No. 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15, 23, 25, 36, 37, 41, 44, 46, 49, 50, 53 and 57, trolleybus route No. 1 and 13, and tram route No. 2 will be changed on working days;
- schedules of bus routes No. 2, 3, 12, 22, 24 and 48, trolleybus routes No. 3, 4, 5, 9, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 25 and 27, and tram routes No. 1, 5, 7, 10 and 11 will be changed on working days and holidays;
- schedules of bus routes No. 11, 13, 16, 22, 32 and 58 will be changed on holidays.
All runs of public transport on the routes operated by “Rīgas satiksme” which depart from terminals after 23.30 will be closed.
Passengers having bought monthly tickets for closed public transport routes are allowed to use them on the routes of buses, trolleybuses and trams running parallel to closed routes, without registering their trips.
Night transport, minibuses and express buses
From 0:00 of 21.03.2020:
- All night transport routes (N1, N2, N3, N4, N5, N6, N7, N10) will be closed.
From the morning of 21.03.2020:
- express bus routes No. 322, 341, 344 will be closed;
- minibus and express bus routes No. 203, 204, 209, 214, 224, 233, 263, 271, 300, 316, 336, 337, 338, 344, 346 and 370 will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays;
- minibuses 214, 316, 338 and 346 will run on working days according to holiday schedules;
- minibuses No. 224, 233, 336 and 370 will run on working days according to Sunday’s schedule;
- minibus No. 271 will run on working days according to Saturday’s schedule;
- express bus No. 300 will run on working days according to Sunday’s schedule, all runs departing after 23.00 will be cancelled.
These changes are made because of changes in the passenger flow after the emergency situation was introduced in Latvia:
